A Brand-New Same-Old Thing

Like the roads from I-5 to Pine Mountain Club, the PMC Fall Festival has had its ups and downs. For 37 years, the Labor Day weekend has been a big deal here. The Oktoberfest, the brain-child of Rick Young and the late Fred Westlund, was moved to Labor Day weekend many years ago to take advantage of the warmer weather and the larger crowds. The Oktoberfest evolved into the Fall Festival when authentic food and music became cost-prohibitive. Last year, the Fall Festival was actually a two-day Concert on the Greens event, and great time was had by all. This year, the PMCPOA Board and the Rec Committee have combined with the PMC Commercial Association and the Pine Mountain Village Merchants Association to try to put on a bigger and better event comparable to those we had in the "good old days." Moving the event to the Village Center allows it to be open to the public, and admission and parking are free.
The Gazebo in the Village Center will be full of live music and entertainment all day into the evening, Saturday and Sunday, September 1st and 2nd. Arts and Crafts booths will line the surrounding streets. Kiddie amusements and pony rides are always a hit. Beer and wine for the "older" children, and amazing food too!
Be sure not to miss the hometown parade. It's on Saturday, September 1st -11am.
